Contents Introduction
The crises of the Japanese and Asian economies in 1997-98 are reflection of theregional interdependence. One of the factors contributing to the baht devaluation of July 2, 1997 was yen depreciation vis-à-vis the US dollar in 1995-1997. The weak apanese economy and the Asian economies mutually reinforced each other in the fall of 1997.
